Yes yes the name is silly but come on, someone in LA has to have Forscan!

I drove into a campsite at night last week and turned off my lights so as not to blast the other campers only to find that my daytime running lights (which are just as bright) apparently work at night too. Anyone in LA able to help me out?

Put the parking brake on a few clicks. It's in the owner's manual.

I received an email from OBDLink indicating that the MX+ adapter would be on sale for $79.95 on Amazon Prime day.

Just a heads up concerning a high quality ELM327 adapter I'd recommend one of these: https://www.totalcardiagnostics.com/elm327/

They're NOT cheap or as cheap as you can find but they're a far sight better and hence more reliable than most you'll find at lower prices. I had an Amazon piece but my laptop running W7 at the time just couldn't/wouldn't recognize it. Installing the one above it was immediately detected and I could proceed.

In all fairness others seem to go quite well with the "cheap" versions but know the quality of your ELM might make a difference whether it's easily discoverable and effectively interfaces with your laptop etc.

HTH

I have used an OBDLink MX Bluetooth adapter with Forscan to modify parameters in the SJB/GEM module in my Ford van with no problems. It is important to insure that the adapter has been updated with the latest firmware.

I still haven’t had anyone with Forscan in LA reach out to help with my dilemma so if anyone in LA sees this, I’d appreciate the help to get my daytime running lights turned off! Thanks.

Have you tried posting on Ford-Trucks? A much larger audience and I think there's a whole thread dedicated to Forscan owners who help other people.

There is a parameter in the SJB/GEM module for turning off the DRLs.
