Re: Article about end of Econoline era.

To bad the E-Series is going away. It would've been cool to see a special "farewell" edition with all the bells a whistles to reward and acknowledge the past loyalty.

I'm keeping my two for as long as I can and glad I purchased Brent's V10 Quigley a couple of weeks ago.

Wow, didn't know there were also so many porsche-philes. I too had one, a 77 911S minus the thermal reactors, Carrera tensioner upgrade, etc. Traditional silver paint with black leather interior. It was a lot of fun to drive. A former PCA member too.

Re: Article about end of Econoline era.

I visited the original Porsche shop in Gmund, Austria. Postwar Austria wanted to be agrarian society, not manufacturing, so Porsche moved to Germany.

The most spectacular thing left in the small town of Gmund was the original wooden body bucks that the body was shaped on.

Always interesting to visit automotive factories and museums.

We should put together an SMB trip to LA area car museums:

Petersen Museum
Nethercutt Museum
Auto Driving Museum
NHRA Museum
Marconi Auto Museum

We may have strayed from the original topic here--I know Jage hates that.

I posted some Porsche pictures in my album for those interested. I had to scan in slides! That's how long ago this was for me.

A couple others, a bit farther north in Oxnard(never been to either):
Mullin Automotive Museum (http://www.mullinautomotivemuseum.com/index.html)
Murphy Auto Museum (http://www.murphyautomuseum.org/)
