First, if you turn off the supply water, then close the SMB filler valve there should be no pressure in the hose. Actually, I run the water until it comes out the tank overflow; then I turn off the faucet; then I disconnect the hose: take the hose, and slowly coil it up - ensuring that I am always pulling it up so it will drain; then I connect the two ends of the hose to keep stuff out of the empty hose.
Usually the next time my wife goes to use the water in the camper, nothing comes out of the faucet because I forgot to close the SMB filler valve.
