Black Billet Grill?

Anyone buy or have a black billet grill for a 2004 e350 super duty? Where'd you get it?

Here's my "dumb newbie question of the day":

What's the purpose of a replacement billet grill like this? Does it add any practical use to the grill? Or is strictly a "cosmetic" thing?

I saw the option on the price sheet but have no idea if it's something "good" to get.

Purely cosmetic for me but you could argue for improved airflow and a more secure hood release if you had to get it authorized by the family's CFO!

I agree that's it mostly cosmetic, but it also protects the radiator. I've (and a couple of my friends have) had rocks fly up and go thru the larger openings in the stock grill and punch a hole in the radiator - or A/C...
I won't go without one, or a screen, anymore.

Good advice Scatter, I never thought about the extra protection the billet grill can provide. Are you talking about a bug screen over the billet grill?

Has anyone found an aftermarket billet grill for a 2007 E350 besides the one offered by SMB? The one in lactic's link is for 2004 and earlier.

I don't put anything over the billet grill. The openings are small enough that I figure (hope) that the rocks that can get thru won't be a problem. A good sturdy bug screen would go a long way in helping on a stock grill though.
