Garage
some good and some bad...

3rd buddy had no line on a motor. his source actually has 3 trucks down that need new 7.3's. so no help there.

my personal mechanic said hes never seen a 7.3 suck rods unless it was over revved. he also said hes seen them pop up on cl locally here off and on. I poked around and didn't see any completes.

called lithia parts and the parts guy ended up being a friend, lol. he said they can get short and long blocks np. just needed to know year to verify. he also said they have one of the best diesel mechanics around. hes been doing ford diesels since the late 80's and knows the powerstrokes like the back of his hand.

If it were me I'd drop an Ashville reman in it. Or a Jasper. I have a Jasper long block in my 6.0 and so far so good. https://ashevilleengine.com/product/7-3-powerstroke/

My brother-in-law lives in Burley which is right next to Rupert. He also recommended MVP diesel when I was in town and had some issues. I ended up going to the dealership because it was a Saturday and they were also quite fair and reasonable. https://www.goodeford.com/

One thing for sure, the Magic Valley is agricultural ground zero with a gazillion Ford trucks driving around so no doubt there are some decent mechanics that know how to keep them on the road (or in the fields).

There's always Riffraff Diesel, who specializes in diesel Fords, but they're over in Eagle Point, OR about 10 hours away.

I do not know if this helps but I saw a used long block on Inland Empire Craiglist minus turbo and another item pretty cheap. Good luck hate to see this happen to anyone.

Not Hailey

Sounds like you're getting a line on some ideas, but I'll give you one not to try, don't come north to Hailey, Ford dealership here is meh at best.
