Re: Busted Van / Busted Trip

I think I took my SMB to a Ford dealership three times, in approximately 20,000 miles of ownership. I didn't get any grief about them working on an SMB converted van, and I had no issues with their workmanship in any of the work they performed.

Re: Busted Van / Busted Trip

The one in Vegas did good work for me and one in Bakersfield did some of the best work to date. I'd have to look up their names but it was luck on my part because there were more than one dealership in each town. Same with Fresno but on that deal I got screwed and picked the wrong guys. Took the van to them in July and didn't get it back until Sept. Nows that's service! At least they are out of business now...no more quicksand for people to walk into. In my local area I get poor to medium service from Ford. Everytime it goes in I wonder if I'll need a tow during the next few months. The dealership closest to me left a screwdriver in the engine compartment that ended up going through the radiator on the way to LA. They also didn't tighten a heater hose on a earlier date that require me to call for a tow. I guess they don't know how to detect a bad starting battery either. It's just those little things that piss me off.

bumping...im hoping this is what's going on with my 03 psd quigley. saw the speedo glitch out a few times on the last trip we took and has done some really weird shifting off and on since, but until today it was always before it was all the way warmed up. today the gauges stopped working and its shifting funky. stalls out from a standstill for a few hundred rpms before the converter engages and starts moving. getting skurred here...

if it's a vss, do i buy a one for my van, or do i buy for whatever t-case i have?

is there a typical mileage the trans on these fail and need rebuilt? im really hoping this isn't my fate.
