Glad to hear there will be another SMB in the north east, perhaps a meet-n-greet in the near future ?

Last time that I was at SMB west I asked Jonathan about buying the canvas...he said they only sell them installed for $2800...!!!!!!
I remember you telling me you bought one for $800 when you did your burned out roof transplant..I think......
Insulated canvas replacement for a SMB penthouse is a brilliant idea, where is 1der when we need him? group buy?

Insulated canvas replacement- I was originally going to have CCV make one for my SMB top before deciding on doing the whole CCV top swap. Give them a call

Good info... I only spoke with her about work that they would do. If I can't get Texas interested in doing the same extensive top work, then I'll have to settle for buying the canvas and having it put in.
Do you know if SMB North has the replacements in black, by chance?

We didn't discuss colors. I just assumed it would be the same "tan" the original is (1995 vintage)...I just called her to confirm and the "tan-beige"is the only color available.
The original canvas isn't terrible..20 yrs old..but it does have a few small holes and I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea. I had considered that if SMB wasn't willing to sell the canvas that I might approach a marine canvas company (I live near Chesapeake Bay) about fabricating one.
I don't plan on doing the installation for a few months but will share my experience when I do

SMB Texas has installed at least one black canvas. I painted my old canvas black using plastic/wicker rattle-can...looks like new 3 years later... but I have no concept of how to fix my crumbling plastic windows without buying a whole new canvas, thus, this search.

We had SMB Indy put new canvas in ours in Nov. 2015 along with re-upholstering some of the interior. They did it all in one day. Looked great when they were done. New plastic and no holes in the screens.
