Re: Center Light bar for Aluminess Bumper?

To answer your question Adventureduo, that is Jason's SMB and he had the bar made by Aluminess when he got his bumper. I saw it last year.

Jayson <-- might help you find him on here. IIRC, the point was he could remove and stow his lights to keep them from disappearing on the street.

Re: Center Light bar for Aluminess Bumper?

Yeah, I just called up aluminess and had it customed made, they even made tow brackets on the back bumper for me. The guys at aluminess are great if you can think of something they will try and do it for you. I did it so i could remove them and my nexy project was to get the l.e.d . bar and mount it on the bracket for better air flow and so no one could steal them

Re: Center Light bar for Aluminess Bumper?

Thanks Jayson, yeah they're great down there.. im actually heading down there next month. I wish my rear bumper had recovery points. That was one of the first things i noticed that's missing from the rear bumper.

Re: Center Light bar for Aluminess Bumper?

I too wanted recovery points on the rear Aluminess. Dave from Aluminess said that it is stronger using the receiver hitch as a recovery point and that is why they generally do not put shackles on the rear bumper.

Re: Center Light bar for Aluminess Bumper?

Interesting. The bumper would have to attach points to spread the load vs. the tow hitch with one. I wonder if it has to do with how the rear bumper bolts to the frame. I'll have to crawl under and see.

Don't they have the option to do a rear winch on the bumper also? So the bumper isn't strong enough for 2 tow points but a center winch is ok?

Just thinking outloud. I'll have to ask Dave when i head down there.
