Cleaning off tar
I had lots of tar to clean off my van (thank you Indiana Dept of Roads and Highways).
And I got a $3 off coupon for 'Tarminator' tar removal spray. I tried it and WD40. WD40 wins. They are very similar in removing tar, with WD40 having a slight edge. Both work, are similar in appearance. But, WD40 I have already, and it is cheaper to buy.
I'm not a fan of WD40. I've seen it gum up equipment when the volatiles evaporate and leave a gummy residue. It is not a very good lubricant.
So, why did I have it on the shelf? It works as the best coolant/cutting lube for machining aluminum. And now I have two uses for it.
