I believe Ford used the same reservoir on all variations...would make sense as the vacuum pump is a separate component altogether.
If I am incorrect please point it out as it's good info to know!
You are correct Scott---I've always used Motorcraft p/n: YC2Z-19A566-AA reservoir along with YG-193 check valve, both mounted inside the cabin near the bottom of the dash board tucked behind the interior trim and steel knee anti-submarine plate.
I did create a tech folder addition over on FTE about most things vacuum related to the HVAC system on at least 1997 forward. There's a ton of info there so be patient when first visiting that article!
Received my new parts from Scott today and install was super easy. Had my 10yr old daughter reach down in there while I pushed the line through the firewall. Those tiny kid arms come in so handy! Thanks again Scott
In the event those of you interested in this mod want to do it and don't want to bother finding parts, I offer the kit through Vantage Optics at the following link
No it's not rocket science but this setup works well and the install is very quick.

Vantage Optics
I just installed this kit today and it worked as advertised. Simple design and straight forward install. I did have to remove under hood starting battery but knew that was a possibility. Thanks Scott - another great product.

The Vantage Optics kit makes this repair very easy, it arrived today and was installed in about an hour. Very glad that I checked this message board after watching a lot of other youtube videos on this. It is rough to not have AC in Phoenix in July.
Hey All! I've installed the vacuum bypass and I still have the AC defaulting to defrost when I'm climbing hills. Anything else I should check?
It sounds as though you didn't use the parts recommended and/or followed the installation directions carefully. Without offense this is a very simple and straight forward repair.

Check you really did bypass the OEM tank with the plumbing. if you did, use a pressure test in the system. Any bad hose can cause a leak, and there are a number of them, but the OEM tank is the main failure point
No offense taken and I agree it should be pretty simple. I've rerouted the OEM reservoir and check valve and relocated it in the passenger foot compartment. The first time I used EOM tank and check valve and it didn't resolve the fact that I have AC until I pull a hill and it defaults to the floor/defrost. I tried again thinking I had bad parts with a kit that has a ball tank with a built in check valve. The issue remains. I've been advised to look at a leak elsewhere or it could be the ac actuator.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
