Hola forum members(and lurkers!)...thought I’d share. The wife brought it to my attention that there’s a gofundme campaign to help buy Coco a new truck. His truck broke down, leaving him to crawl back home through the desert.
Some of you will know that Coco is a double amputee, some of you have met him or been by his place down in Baja, many have heard the stories about Coco and of legendary Coco’s Corner, his little property that has been a staple for desert racers and Baja travelers to stop and gather, grab a beer, swap stories and make some up along the way, his place is even noted on many Baja maps!
The number of visitors has dropped dramatically due to the newly completed MEX 5 that now bypasses his place, along with the current pandemic, greatly reducing the number of people stopping by to grab a beer, coke or a water, which is his only form of income. We stopped by last winter to say hi, get a few cold waters and sign his ledger book.
