Using my IDS I did the police mode which disables the interior lights but the exterior lights are still coming on - need to do a bit more poking around (2010 E-350)
UPDATE - Apparently on my model year the police mode only adjusts the interior lights. You disable the perimeter lights via ignition programming.

Funny thing pugsly, I did that sequence a fews years ago to disable my running lights. All it did was put my headlights on full time - anytime I'm in drive. I can't turn them off.
I never did reverse it. I suppose now its time lol.

Maybe you got the code slightly off? I hate doing coding like this, would much rather it be supported by IDS and know for sure what I was asking it to do and what I was getting!

Sounds like you accidentally activated Canadian mode!

I was reading thru the thread, wondering if there was some way that a 'regular user' could access the IDS. Of course, I would expect it might well be a cryptic and non-user friendly interface, not so easy to navigate and figure out. Still, if someone can figure it out, I wonder if there are any other cool tricks in there (and yes, ways for the unwary to screw things up)..

There are some features that can be adjusted videogame-controller style using multiple turns of the ignition key, door lock buttons, etc, depending on the year.

Looks like there are mixed success stories on deactivating both the interior and exterior lights through the menu options. The successes reported so far are all 2013 & 2014 vans. It may be that it's not quite so straightforward with earlier models.

I contacted the ForsScan team and they sent me a revision of the program that allowed me to to disable the Welcome Illumination (Dark Car also has to be enabled) on my 2010 E150. It looks like location 726-08-01 is changed from 0A42 (as built) to 063E. It is wonderful to finally be rid of this unwanted feature! Let darkness reign!

Very very cool! Great that it can be a DIY process with FORScan. You'll have a lot of grateful van owners with this info.
