As I have discovered, just because the Quadvan conversion uses Ford components doesn't mean that any Ford dealer will service it happily. Recently, my automatic hubs would not engage automatically. The Ford dealer closest to my house wouldn't touch it and Galpin Ford, a Ford dealer known for selling tricked out, customized vehicles, wanted to foist me off onto 4 Wheel Parts. I ended up taking it to my Volkswagen mechanic who easily fixed the problem and had a much less hourly labor charge to boot. I imagine that if I was towed in and needed work, a dealer would not grumble too much, but so far, my experience is that dealer service departments are wary about anything that isn't bone stock Ford.
