Re: Downsizing: Satisfied or Regrets?

daveb: I don't offroad, but I have a Polaris Ranger 6x6, and half the time I look at that thing and wonder if I wouldn't be better served with a Suzuki Samarai 4x4. I have only slightly looked into them and maybe you already have and have disgarded the idea, but it would seem to me that a Suzuki Samarai 4x4 would be a perfect size tow behind for a Sportsmobile.

If I could fit into one of those My issue with an ATV is towing it to where I want to go and leaving the SMB in a spot where somebody tears into it. I'd kind of like a little room for a big boy and air

Downsizing: Satisfied or Regrets?

That's what I've done lately Dave but honestly if I'm going to bother with hooking/unhooking a toad I might as well just get a class A. It's just as much trouble. I'm still convinced SMB only is the way to go.

Maybe. I'm only one person so I don't need a huge class A and I really don't like campgrounds. When I'm by myself I'd never have a Jeep in tow because I rarely go hard core off roading by myself. But it's bound to happen one of these days and the thought of having a mechanic come in to do a repair or having a big tow try to get me out during a breakdown scares the hell out of me. A Jeep breakdown is way different than a SMB breakdown. I've thought of trailering an ATV but then I'd have to leave the sporty all by itself at a trailhead for hours and that ain't good. I'm fine on forest service roads but OHV routes? And I do a lot of OHV routes The only time I'd have a jeep behind is if I'm planning to base camp then drive to the OHV routes.
