East Coasters (northeast US): climate control questions...

For anyone who lives and/or camps in the northeastern US (like NY, PA, NJ, DE, MD, etc)...

What "environmental/climate control" options could you live without, and what are pretty much necessary, for using your SMB comfortably in this area?

The SMB owner I visited over the weekend didn't get A/C or a heater installed in her RV. Which surprised me a little, since we get a pretty hefty temperature range around here during the seasons. She said she just opens up the PH top's "windows" for cross-ventilation. Which makes sense, but what if it's 100 degrees outside, w/ a warm breeze? On the flip-side, what happens when the temperature drops to a chilly 30 degrees outside overnight, and you don't have a heater installed?

I guess I could buy a portable A/C unit, and a portable heater, just in case. Then I wouldn't have to have any higher cabinets inside at all, and keep an "open" floorplan... Hmmm...

Does anyone use their SMB for year-round camping? Did you order your SMB without a heater/AC? ....

I'm just wondering what to put into my SMB, and what I can live without. I realize it's a matter of personal choice and circumstances, but I wanted to get an idea as to what others who live/camp around here did, and what sort of weather you've had your SMB in.

I've never camped before, and have never owned an RV, so any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
