Extended or not?

thoughts on extended vans vs non? I'm looking at an e350 extended, very clean, good price, good maintenance, but I'm not sure I need that long of a van. I have the idea that I'd like to be able to stick my motorcycle in there and still have room to move, but maybe that's dumb.

Not dumb at all. Only the hardcore wheelin' types could justify an RB over EB for overhanging and catching terra firma.

EB all the way! You can't go wrong. Same wheelbase, meaning they drive and turn the same. Especially with a bike, I can see no downside to an EB.

Agreed, with one caveat. Putting motorcycle on a JoeHauler on the back of an EB definitely creates dragging issues.

But a regular EB offroad, not really an issue.

thanks. I dont think i'd put the bike on the back, I'd be putting it inside. I'm a single guy and usually travel alone or with one other person.

EB all the way! I have had both and the extra room with EB is great especially if you have a motorbike in the back, and everything the previous posters said.

Parking might be an issue. After I got mine home I didn't realize how long the vehicle was but luckily I had about a foot to spare on my driveway. Around town I don't have an issue, it's about the same as driving a 4 door long bed pickup.

We have the EB, and needed it for the marine shower/toilet unit at the back...I don't know the difference having only driven the EB, but room is something you can't add later!!So I say get the EB, if it is too much, you can get a mate!!! He/She will fill the rest of it up in no time!!

Hi. That extra18 inches makes a huge difference in personal comfort. Not so squeasy.
Parking is not an issue. Eventually, go with the Penthouse poptop. Goucho bed, with fridge/sink/cupboard configeration will suit your internal storage solution. Check out Sportsmobile Custom Camper Vans - Your Home Away From Home for cut & paste layouts, even if you do your own, for ideas.
