Extreme Air Magnum not workimg

Pulled the Smb out for a trip and I find the Extreme Air not working. Mine is a 2011 diesel with factory installed Extreme Air Magnum;
- circuit breaker inside passenger foot well not tripped
- unknown circuit breaker between engine batteries also not tripped
- enable switch in cab causes power relay to engage
- no pressure in tank
- pressure switch is working (it's in line with dash enable switch and in fact sends power to power relay)
- i find two black leads and two red leads going into motor. 12v on both red. both black test to ground.
- took cover off compressor motor and fan spins freely (too freely?)
- No sign of heat damage to motor

Any ideas folks? Seems to me that if motor cooked I'd have a tripped breaker and would have a short when powered up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best,

D'Milo

Re: Extreme Air Magnum not workimg

Called Extreme Outback Thursday am. George returned my call from the airport while waiting for his flight to Overland Expo. I explained the symptoms and told him I was passing through Vacaville that afternoon. He said they would have a new compressor ready for me, and they did.

At this point we don't know why the original quit but George suspects that the compressor might have been left on while my rig was in storage and that if run with low battery voltage brush holders have known to get too hot and deform causing the brushes to stick and possible cause an open. I'll try to report back with their findings next week. In the meantime, i'm being much more careful to switch the compressor off after it has charged the tank.

As for Extreme Outback; so far they've handled themselves perfectly with me.

Thanks Bigvans for the contact info.

Re: Extreme Air Magnum not workimg

That's GREAT news!

Yea, I was in Tracy at my brother’s house and I went up to see George in Vacaville. We ended up spending half the day hangin out telling stories.
