I agree. Something's rotten in Denmark. It is true, though, that gray water can stink as bad as black. Especially if you wash lots of nasty dishes in your rig. You shouldn't be smelling it anytime unless dumping the tanks though.

Where is the vent for the grey water tank? Mine is directly below the window, most likely a typical setup when there is a window above the counter. I've noticed an odor from a full grey water tank with the window cracked open before, sure indicator that it's time to dump the tank!

Happy Campers tank treatment. Works great for black tanks, grey tanks, and porta potties.

How well does this work relative to Rid-X RV? I've been using Rid-X since I got the rig, but the amount of perfume in it is excessive, and makes the whole rig smell of it just by what perfuses through the bottle.

I've been using Pine Sol or Fabuloso. Both are recommended by lots of full-timing seniors on boards I've read. Some don't like the smell of either but I don't consider them bad.

The think I like about Happy Campers is that, unlike the chemical products that many folks use, Happy Camper is not a chemical odor masker. Instead, it consists of bacteria that make pee and poo into their lunch. As a result of breaking down the organic matter naturally, the associated odors disappear because there is no longer anything in the tank that smells.

Happy Campers works great. In my experience, nothing else comes close.
