Ford AC drain?

Anybody know where it is?

My AC isn't draining properly (AC performance drops off after time; after one hour parked it is still dripping same as when first parked) so I'm thinking the drain is plugged up. But, I can't find where it is. It is really tight in that engine compartment.

Any help is appreciated.

Mike

Re: Ford AC drain?

When the drain doesn't work, it drains into the passenger foot area.

Sounds like your evaporator is icing up. Common in hot weather if not using recirc. Have you tried keeping it on MAX AC (that is the re-circ setting).

Ford AC drain?

Try looking in the front wheel wells towards the passenger compartment. It will be a small tube. Straighten out a coat hanger and carefully run it up and down the tube to clean out.

Re: Ford AC drain?

Since it hasn't had that problem in the arid west, perhaps carringb is right. I tried MaxAC, but maybe it was already iced up.

That is the area I'm looking, but I can't find a drain tube. My next try is to remove the doghouse and look from there.
