ford and voyager top

I'm interested in anyone who has a ford van with voyager top. does it actually have a full 6 feet stand up height. now that sportsmobile does not have the cruiser top iam in a quandry.

the chevy has more height with voyager but i prefer ford for width.

Re: ford and voyager top

Hi gerry,

I had a Ford van with the SMB voyager top.
It is 6' in the middle, floor to roof. The roof line becomes lower going towards the rear of the van.
It was nice to be able to get up and stand, get food & drink, while someone else was driving.
If you get one, make sure to insulate the voyager top, before any finish surface is applied.
For cold climates, the voyager top is a good choice, although you may get many opinions from others.
Call SMB and they will give you the exact measurements.

Peace,

Zugg

Re: ford and voyager top

Interior clearance in mine is 73" or 6'1" in the center, slightly less, maybe 71" at the edges. Pics in my gallery. I'm 6'8" and there is plenty of room for me to stand and move around. Just can't stand up straight.

Re: ford and voyager top

I believe
that Fiberine made the tops for SMB
i heard that they started making them again recently in the
last few months

I did my homework
for me, the cruiser is the ticket
if nothing more than the "over cab" portion that
holds all my oversize gear

call em and see

Re: ford and voyager top

thanks for all replies. what i am actually interested is the building of an upper bed over the cab.

does anyone have this on a ford with the voyager top. i saw one with a cruiser top on sportsmobiles site. if you have it in the ford/voyager is there enough space(top to bottom of bed)

Re: ford and voyager top

The upper bed on my Cruiser top has a pretty tight clearance...top to bottom. I would think the Voyager would be really tight.

There are some pics on my buddies site you can look at, but I'm with Linda, very tight.

At least you could store some stuff with some kind of custom layout. Where you stow the platform might be of concern.

Re: ford and voyager top

I really like the voyager top...even though I went with it to make like easier on the wheelchair/disabled participants.

Of course if I was buying a rig just for me & my family I would have got penthouse for the upper sleeping area.

For 2 people though or someone with 1 small kid the voyager abilty to walk around without ease, stealth camp and have the hard weather protection is killer.
