Freestanding screen house

We have not opted for the canopy due to the mounting problems, and are seeking a screen tent. The easy -ups are too heavy. Anyone have suggestions for fiberglass pole tents, large enough to set over a picic table, floor not needed. Thanks

Screen Tents

Patrict ,
We have two different Screen Enclosures that have served my family very well . One from www.cabelas.com and the other came from www.campmore.com . Both are very sturdy and about half the weight of the Easy Up .

I have a 10' X 12' Paha Que Screen room. It is on the heavy side (25 lbs) but it also gives you the sides that roll up out of the way or used as awnings. The sides are very nice for bad weather and privacy if needed. It is not on the cheep side either, but a is a good quality made product

It does not set up as easy as the easy-ups, takes longer to pack up but works well for me. I will say that I do not usually set it up unless it would be a multiple night stay, bad weather, or bugs.

Hope you find something you like.

There are aluminum ezup's also.

I use a steel First Up with a screen enclosure...they are the smallest and lightest of the steel ones.

I'll take the sturdiness and size for my family over a tent type enclosure. Plus it's very handy for hanging wet towels and suits from swimming.

I like that Scalf- how big is it packed? How well does it do in the wind?

I have used the Coleman Instaclip version, 9x11 for 2 seasons camping and at home. It is basic with screen walls, 2 of them zipping away and no floor. Harder to put up than an easyup but lighter and smaller. Selfstanding, no guides lines required although it can pick up in heavy winds. An ice chest worked for us to hold it down.
It was inexpensive but the steel poles are starting to rust at the connections. It also has screen burn from fire embers and generally it has been used hard and put away wet. I was happy with it given the price which was under $100.

I just purchased the newer version at Costco.
Around $40, it is 12x12, 22lbs in a carrying case.
Northpole (by Coleman?) brand.
Description here: http://item.express.ebay.com/Home-Garde ... xpressItem

I expect to get another 2 years out of it. It seems to be a great price for something that will be used hard.

No, it isn't sold on costco web, just in the store's seasonal camping section now.
