I have been thinking about getting an SMB with a garageable PH. I have heard, however, that they have a lot more wind noise due to the fact the top comes down closer to the front of the van. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks.
Are there two types? The other types are called a cruiser, contempo and voyager tops. My penthouse top is like the one in Marty's picture above. I always thought of it as the the garage top. And no noise at all.

Indeed, there are two types of Penthouse tops, one when installed on an E 250 is low enough for the SMB to fit into a garage. They are made at the Indiana facililty, but not in CA. Not sure about Texas.
Mine is a garage top...it actually might be quieter than a steel roof due to the sound deadening of the plastic roof, canvas, wood and mattress.

That is music to my ears, Marty, thanks. Someone at the CA facility told me they had bad wind noise. Apparently, since they don't make them, they wanted to bad mouth them.
