Gas tank question???

I have a 2006 Quigley Ford EB, and I was wondering if anyone has dual tanks on there van? If so, was this added by SMB or has anyone installed one?
The stock unit you receive from after having the conversion (Quigley) done is way smaller then I would like, so I'm seeing what my options maybe.

My old '06 van only had a 36 gallon tank and I added a second tank. I had to do it myself as I couldn't find any aftermarket tank made to fit. I welded up a 25 gallon tank that fit under the van between the frame rail and the outside body. I ran the filler pipe up beside the stock filler and put the gas caps side by side in the same body opening. Rather then mess with the smog and fuel pump hassle, I used a small electric fuel pump, controled by a switch in the cab, to transfer gas from the aux tank to the stock one when it was getting empty.
This is not much help I guess, but it's the only way I could find to do it. But that was around eight years ago and there might be some tanks out there by now. Good luck in your quest.

I call Jonathan at SMB yesterday, he directed me to this company where they get there tanks. He explained that they do change out on the tanks there at SMB which runs around $1500 for a 46 gallon tank.
I just started looking in to this company and tank, I'll update after I do some more research.
Cheers All

Here is the page with the tank on it:

http://www.transferflow.com/Ford_van_midship_tank.html

$1061 for the gas tank. $858 for diesels.

To install it you need the crossmember that is added to support the transfer case. Or you could fab up a crossmember for use in a 2wd. T-F lists the tanks as fitting up to 2003, but they fit later model vans. Probably some emissions requirement or testing they don't want to deal with.

Before mounting the tank, you reuse your fuel pump/sending unit in the T-F tank. It is a good idea to shorten the vent tube or to make an alternate tank vent or you will spend much time trying to fill the last 8-10 gallons.

Mike,

I have an 06 EB 4x4 from quigley that SMB Fresno installed a 46 gal tank on. It was part of the original order and not added on after delivery. I don't think that's a normal situation but somehow I got lucky and got it.

I think that's normal. SMB installs a lot of these tanks. Once the 4wd is in place, the installation is straightforward. Especially, if you consider the stock tank must be modified for the 4wd conversion, resulting in a smaller (29gallon?) tank. S-K installs them, I think Quadvan does also. Quigley won't do it.
