I'm just starting on my own build, with a pop-top to be installed at SMB West. I haven't found any how-tos, but a few good sites of other people's build, and some great ones on this site, too. I'm working from a Ford van, but I did bookmark a Sprinter(? Peugot Boxer, I think?) build, when I was learning about framing windows:

No idea about regulations. I hadn't even thought of it! Might depend on being classified as an 'RV' or not?
