GVWR of 9,500 (Ride Improvement Package)

I know this topic has been discussed in length, but wanted to get a new tread going as I am new owner of SMB.

I got my van weighed yesterday and it totaled 8,420# (including me), full fuel tank, but empty water tank and minimal gear besides some skis in my rocket box on top.

My question is regarding additional weight. I'm guessing for a full weekend loaded with food, water and gear plus three more passengers I would reach or exceed the 9,500 GVWR. Is this a concern?

Lastly, I've been reading about the RIP (Ride Improvement Package) by Agile Off Road and am curious to know if there is a big benefit in having this done.

On a side note, I have E rated tires and the 4x4 conversion was done by quigley.

RIP is a HUGE improvement to the Quigleys. It literally drives like a new van.

And no, I wouldn't be worried by that weight, mine is over 10,000.

Most important is keeping under your tire and axle ratings. Most E350s have a semi-float 6340# rear axle, some have a full floating7800# rear axle. Your tires have their max load stamped on them.
