None of the following companies apply to this van, but it might help you to get a feeling for the prices in the econoline world:

A u-joint 4x4 conversion costs ~25k without any goodies in Chris` shop.

A CCV Pop-Top ~10k

And for 3k you won't even get the Aluminess rear bumper.

You can argue now that all this loses value over the years, but you could also argue that everybody wants a ready to go camper nowerdays and you would need to wait a long time to get your conversion done by any company.

Justifying the recommended $50K asking price is simple = supply and demand.
Other than the delays associated with ordering a new rig, you’re looking at $150k minimum, If you get into one for $50K you have a considerable amount of financial wiggle room to update/upgrade to suit your needs (and that will all be “new”) and still come in well under $100k

Quigley does the 4x4 upgrade for ~$15K. If someone was to select every option available the price would be ~$20K. https://www.quigley4x4.com/wp-conten...-PriceList.pdf

I personally think $50,000 is a fair price. I just sold a 2004 Ford E350 V10 RB SMB model 30 with 127,000 miles for $63,000. Manual Pop top, no solar, but did have Aluminess ladder, bumpers w/ Warn Winch and rear deluxe box. AlFlorida is not taking into consideration the time, energy and additional costs involved to relocate a van around the country to get all this work completed. Also a sheet of CC 3/4 plywood costs $115.00 right now!!!

$50k seems a tad high to me but not too much. Definitely a reasonable starting point given the current market and demand for these vans. Trust me if this thing listed at $15-20k as someone suggested Checksicks would wake up to a 500 person line outside of his house of people with cash in hand.

As others have pointed out. Building a comparable van from scratch is going to cost more and take 6-12 months to complete depending on what aftermarket companies you go with. Yeah it bill be new and potentially have higher quality stuff, but that takes a whole lot of time and effort to coordinate.
