Mine is on a bumper mount. The mount has a spot for a padlock to lock it down. I keep the base and adapters inside.

Mine too is mounted on the front bumper, where it also adds ding protection ! for the aluminum bumper.
Mounted it with two HD truck-bed tie-down rings. I think they were ~3/8" studs on the rings to fit through the holes in the jack riser.
Did have it locked to one of the bumper padeyes (or you can run a bicycle cable lock between the mounting rings), but now have it coated with black truck bed liner and it's practically invisible. The large mounting rings also come in handy for quick access to rigging tackle.
The baseplate and jack ratchet fit in the bumper winch locker, right where i can find them.

I mount mine to the Thule rails on the penthouse top.

I was lucky enough to find the black plastic case for mine and I keep it inside underneath on the rear floor (RB50). I only carry it when I'm on an adventure.

SMB did do mine but it's a bit different than what they have in the store these days. The left bracket has a hole so it can be locked down. The other lock just keeps the ratchet from sliding off. In Ca they want to be able to see the license plate and it has enough clearance to see it. CellularSteve mounted his on the top bar using tube mounts.

I attached u-bolts to top of my cross rail...rail has a slight arc to it so bolts have to be just right...zoom in and you can see it better...the other pic is what it looks like from drivers seat...
