Re: How did you hear about Sportsmobile Forum?

I found this forum through ADVrider.com which is a motorcycle based forum. They have many different sub-forums and vans was one of them. Saw the SMBs and stuff and the drooling for a 4x is severe. Looking to by one and sad that Ford discontinued the E series van. Looking for a lightly used one to have converted.

Re: How did you hear about Sportsmobile Forum?

I came across this site while looking for expedition vehicles. I thought I wanted a LC60 for the longest time and then I found out what a sportsmobile is! I have been trying to get one since the first of the year but no luck. Hopefully the will release the cutaway version and will be able to get my hands on one.

Found it while researching Westys on the net. Not sure how I came across the forum but it was in the search. Once I discovered the SMB the Westys were out!

Google search for me. I am planning to build a Eb-50-ish rig and searched google for a forum as a good place to start.

I came across it while perusing the Sportsmobile website. We were waiting for our build at the time and was very excited to see what people had to say!!

Re: How did you hear about Sportsmobile Forum?

Looking to eventually purchase a Sprinter 4x4 like the one featured on the site for my photography business and my personal travels.

I am curious about the build quality of one of these, are they typical RV quality (lightweight particle board cabinets, designed for infrequent use) or marine grade?

I test drove a 2015 Airstream Interstate recently, and while it looked nice, the quality was surprisingly not too much better than the standard RVs and Toy haulers I've been in.

Googling various terms along the lines of DIY Campervans, and came across this site. Not a 100% match as I am not ready for something like a pop top or 4wd at this moment. Still, closest yet to the type of site i was looking for, with an incredible amount of useful info (and nice people to boot), so here I am!

(Hopefully i won't get so 'inspired' that i spend 10x my original planned budget..) :-)
