You can't really mount anything through the PH. I don't think I've ever seen a rooftop AC on the PH.

Also, consider moving... living out West has certainly influenced our ability to get away. Although I still feel like we don't get out nearly enough, especially on short trips, having such a 4x4 rig back in Indiana would be excessive and wasteful in my opinion- there just aren't enough places to go, and those that are don't need 4x4 even in the winter.

I think you might be a bit disappointed with a Starcool provided you want 70 degree cab temps if it's 90+ outside. While sitting in full sun, mine only drops the inside temp about 10 degrees more than the outside temps with the top down. With the top up it would be worthless. Hard tops can support a larger add on air conditioner system which sounds like what you want. The PH tops cool down faster with all the large window/screens when the cool breezes start to flow and have an evening advantage if you're in cool climate zones. In a muggy region I would want something that works like a home style AC. You might have to run a larger Generator like in the BW van. I’ll say I was not happy at all with the Starcool on shore power. On the road it’s a must IMO.

We just spent 4 days in a great spot. We were literally 500 yards from a reservoir with 1000 people on top of each other. But we were able to get down a really nasty piece of 4wd trail to a campsite next to a creek. We had 3 neighbors we couldn't see. It was so quiet and pieceful. It takes some effort to find spots you like. Pre planning is a must. Forum folks will always give you good tips. If you buy an SMB make a few friends among other owners in your area. It's a good way to learn about places close by. Maybe even meet up with them and follow them into spots. We have done this several times with great success.
