Re: how many miles per gallon do you get?
On flat land I can get 19.3 mpg.
Not so good in West Virginia.

When our van was a new empty cargo van, it got close to 16 mpg on the highway. Now with the 24" high top and lightweight interior, it gets 14 or maybe 14.5. I'm thinking the high top sucks 1-2 mpg.

This is about the same as I got in April over 3,000 miles in a loop out to the Navajo Reservation, Bryce, Capital Reef, Moab, Santa Fe, and back to Texas. Lots of 75 mph on the Texas highways; going into/with headwind probably balanced out).
Now that I'm thinking about letting Derek put a new top on my van, I wonder how it will impact the mpgs.

Not sure which top that means (because I'm not familiar with Derek), but if it helps, I have a 1997 E-250HD RB SMB with the 5.4 and a PH top. Driving 65-ish I get 16.x MPG in flat to mild mountain driving. Around town (30-55 mph but the 55 is highway with lots of stoplights and there are a fair number of hills) around 12.x mpg. Towing cross country, I got around 11-12 (have not really averaged that trip out yet, so I'm just thinking back to my various single-tank calculations). I've never driven the van without a PH top so I can't directly compare, but our mileage sounds fairly similar, although I don't know what would happen to my mileage at 75mph.

how many miles per gallon do you get?
I can tell you, about 14 running 75 in a 5.4 loaded with a fairly streamlined CCV top. I can't seem to drive less than 75 on a road trip. I start off conservatively and then start creeping up to the speed of traffic around me. I got 15 on several tanks (on flatland) on a trip this summer, but I'm attributing about 1mpg to the tuner I added. I was hoping for more, but then aren't we all?

how many miles per gallon do you get?

God had someone invent cruise control so we could relax and enjoy the scenery. Let the speeders get stressed out while driving. At 65 MPH a 200 mile trip will take 3.1 hours on the freeway. At 75 the same trip will take 2.7 hours. To me the 24 minutes saved is not worth the stress or the additional gas.

An aftermarket accessory used to adjust the tuning of the engine away from the factory preset tuning.

Engine management tuners are small computers you can buy and plug into your van’s onboard computer. In over simplified terms, the tuner tricks your van’s computer into making decisions about things like ignition timing, fuel delivery, shifting points, etc. that it would not normally make. The tuner makes the computer do more of what you specifically are looking to gain (performance wise) but the van’s computer just tries to compromise between emissions, MPG, power, traction control, etc.

Lol Larrie! Trust me, I live by cruise control. I drive for a living and use it all of the time. But still, I creep up over the course of a long trip. It's not like I don't enjoy the scenery, I just get bored, and I also drive a lot at night when kids are sleeping. I don't know how many times you've been across Eastern Colorado and Kansas, but it ceases to be pretty scenery after a few trips for me. In fact, I'm pretty much bored with every interstate in the whole Southeast as well
