how many miles per gallon do you get?

My reason is probably due to lot's of Red lights and in general Traffic (0 mpg).

I am geared at 3.73 which is tall and something I just notice lately, it went up to 7mpg if I take it out of overdrive for around the town driving (0-50mph)

I have an excel file into which you can enter fuel prices and it'll churn out the cost per mile and total cost at various mileages. Can't seem to find out how to post the file, so just PM me with your email.

It's pretty basic so far, just cost over miles via fuel differences. I intend, someday, to macro the thing, allow someone to put in the extra cost of the diesel, check whether or not it makes sense to get an AMSOIL system (from a monetary standpoint only of course), etc.

It's hard to define "city". 9 MPG for city doesn't sound too unexpected if your city driving has lots of stop & go -- there's simply a lot of Sportsmobile mass to accelerate each time you stop. I haven't calculated a full tank of city driving mileage myself, but I get about that mileage when off-road trail-driving (lots of stop and go).

Yes, the 9 mpg tanks were exclusively stop and go. I'll update w/ a highway tank of gas, and hopefully it's substantially better.

6.0PSD: Over the weekend trip to Saline Valley Hot Springs, I averaged 13.2 mpg, including highway 50-70 mph and 100+ miles offroad, aired down to 30 psi w/o 4wd engaged.

Around town, it is 8-9 mpg.

Diesel is $4.00+/gal in Mojave & Owens Valley.

My 6.0 gets about 12 MPH.. but the speedo is way off, plus the van is so under powered I'am wide open all the time..

Consistently 16.8 cruising at 63mph cross-country. 7.3 with an Edge w/ Attitude and highway tires. After fixing the u-joint I was able to cruise 70-75 and my mileage dropped significantly (14-ish range).

have a 06 rb e-350 6l PSD...get about 15.5 average over most trips...
most of our trips run 500 to 1500 miles and cover freeways (62 mph)
back roads run about 50 and 4x slow...being a photographer, our rig
weighs out at about 9200 lbs loaded...I also believe that the fuel you use
plays a factor in mileage...I get my best mileage on the fuel I get from flying J and loves...chevron and shell don't seem to give that good of mileage...Just started running 99.9 bio, and get the same on our 1st tank,
and the unit is quieter...

Here are my MPG ratings for the past 18,000 miles. I seem to missing about 2000 miles worth of receipts, so it's not complete, thus some missing sections through time.

Factors to note:

*Most of these data points are 280 to 500 miles between fillups; these are long distance-averaged.

*Almost all driving is long trips, but up and down large grades, such as up to Yosemite or Lake Tahoe skiing. Thus it's sort of highway, but a lot of hilly turny highway, if you will.

*Some mileages are off as if it's cold, we run the heater a lot and it comes directly off the diesel tank.

*Obviously if there's bad stop and go traffic or we do some city driving that week, the numbers are way skewed.

*Not sure if the beginning values seeming lower really come up as the engine got broken in, because we did a lot of cold camping in the beginning. Still, the MPG seems to rise a bit...

We have averaged 12.9 for the last 22,000 miles. As we are on our way to $5 per gallon diesel, I thought I’d try a trip with out my foot pressed to the floor. My test was a trip from Santa Cruz to Refugio SB, last week. The drive was 502 miles round trip. I attempted to stay at 60 mph and never exceeded 63mph. I was stunned to have gotten 16.8 mpg. This was with approx. 10 gallons of Bio-diesel in the 46 gallon tank.

2006 6.0 PSD, SMB RB50, PH, Amsoil, S&K4X4 with 3.73 gears.

With an E350 6.0 L Turbo Diesel w/ Amsoil system... I consistantly get 13-14 MPG for the last 11 months I've owned my SMB. Most of this driving has been in Colorado, which means every tank has large amounts of 4X4 driving over mountain passes (very rarely drive otherwise).

While relocating to Maine over the winter I encountered the worst MpG ever. It was about 7.5 - 8MPG. But that was towing another vehicle with cargo/bikes on top of both vehicles attributing to wind resistance 18,000 lbs total towing). PICTURE1 PICTURE2
