Re: how many miles per gallon do you get? How about 20?
We were driving out of Terlingua, TX a few days ago on our way to Alpine and then home. We had a 30 to 50 mph wind straight behind us for 50 miles. I checked the mpg over that stretch and we averaged 20mpg running 70mph. That part was nice, but when we started heading east, we had the same 30 to 50 mph winds, but as a crosswind for almost the next 1,000 miles. Hope I haven't worn out the front tires from turning right for 1,000 miles. We stayed on the road, but there were a couple of gusts that moved us pretty hard. We also only got 11 or 12 mpg the rest of the way, but that's about what we usually get.
