I think I'm going to buy a Dometic 9500 manual awning...

2011 GMC Savana AWD here, pretty close to pulling the trigger on a 10' Dometic 9500 manual awning. I've done a bunch of research, but wanted to make a post before ordering in case anyone here has last minute comments or advice.

I'd also considered the Fiamma F45s and Thule Hideaway. However, the Dometic is the only legless manual awning I've found that isn't a 270 degree or similar. Have I missed any?

My plan is to install a ladder rack with vertical uprights on the gutter rails, then "wall mount" the awning to the uprights. Does that sound feasible?

Anyone want to talk me out of this or should I go for it?

Oh...I've googled some vendors, but if anyone has particular recommendations there, I'd appreciate that as well.

Thank you!

Did you pull the trigger? Considering the same... haven't done much research.

Not yet, but plan to soon. I ordered a Vantech H1 ladder rack with 4 crossbars, so I think that should be plenty strong for mounting as I mentioned in my post.

Well, I have a 10-foot Dometic manual 9500 new in the box that I'm looking to sell at a good price if you are at all interested... the color is Onyx.

I was unable to mount it to my CCV top and got a different brand instead.

I live in the San Diego area...

I would be interested, but I'm in Connecticut. Guessing shipping would be prohibitive.

I’m in San Diego and would be interested in the awning if you want to contact me. I’ll try to PM you.

Thank you
