Wasn't this van with the smoke stack up for sale a year or so ago? I can't seem to find the thread.

Also, if I was in a position to buy a van today I'd keep looking every day but be ready to wait for the right van deal to show up. That may be a long wait at the moment. Think of all the folks that bought boats, big RVs, fast cars in the pre-recession time and it didn't end well a few years later. Try not to be that guy.

For $46.5k I feel like you could find a similar van that includes a pop-top, or at the very least, a high top. You'll appreciate the extra space inside.

Also, I wouldn't pay the 7.3 tax unless it's an absolute must have on your list.

Agreed, at that price range this is a much nicer van.. and doesn't have valuable interior space taken up by an exhaust stack.

The prices here in Denver for a 4wd van are insane!
I've got my eye out at a couple of junk yards for a F250/350 that I can get the front end and transfer case out of for my 2010 E350. Total for all the parts at U-Pull is less than $1000 and it will add $10,000+ to the value of my van for a weekends worth of work.
What the chop shops are charging for the conversion here is robbery, but I don't blame them, if people are willing to pay, I'd definitely be willing to charge.

OK. I'm going to try and say this without sounding too arrogant or too much like a pr!ck.
Grew up on a large farm in southern Iowa, spent the last 25 years in automation, mechanical/electrical and fabrication. Adding an axle under the front of a Ford van doesn't even register on the difficulty scale. People take their vehicle to a specialty shop for work, the price is high and the work is being done by a $15hr "mechanic".
That's just my .02 cents.
