Re: Kudos to Aluminess

1st time using my van to tow my 24' enclosed hauler and with my ignorance didn't think to have a longer hitch bar. Well, the electric power assist jack from my trailer whacked my Aluminess storage box on right turns and sheared the bottom mount.

Called Kenny and he said he was already closing shop. He knows I live up in OC. I happened to be in the area so he accommodated and had me cruise over to his house in the evening where he took the box off for me to get it to his shop for repair the next day.

Stellar!

Even though (and probably because) the latch mechanism is poorly designed and overrated, it tends to fail frequently. Good thing their service is good.

Yelp is a good idea potentially gone bad. There's a LOT of dialogue, and a number of lawsuits, that claim if you own a business and want bad reviews "filtered", you need to advertise with Yelp and the bad reviews magically go away.

Re: Kudos to Aluminess

I would NEVER use yelp. Just a platform for endless complainers and idiots that are responsible themselves for the problems they state.

I use yelp all the time especially when I travel. Both as a reviewer and just a user looking for a local business to drop cash at. Works awesome for me.

Re: Kudos to Aluminess

Just made my first Aluminess purchase! Can't wait.

On Yelp, I always try to remember that people who have good experiences rarely give reviews, comments, or even dialog. People who have bad experiences anywhere, with any product, always complain. I'm not immune. This is important to remember on sites like Yelp, when thinking of buying a 6.0 diesel or just about anything else really.

Re: Kudos to Aluminess

Definitely take the reviews with a grain of salt. I give glowing reviews when a business takes care of me. It's my way of saying thank you.

On the flip side I leave poopy reviews when a business doesn't appreciate my money. Its my way of saying eff you.
