leaky side brake light

i'm back with another ? for all you experts out there....

this one i think will be very easy...

i have a leaking side brake light on my 1987 E-250

the gasket is brittle and useless....

i've searched everywhere for a new gasket but no luck....

i am assuming i can put some kind of sealant in place of the gasket that should do the trick?????

what would be the proper material to use for this application?

obviously something that will come off easily if i need to replace the light right?

tks for any and all help as always

I'm wondering if an auto parts store might have a sheet of rubber gasket you could cut a new gasket from?
