Advanced 4x4's strategy doesn't use the F-350 parts and reuses the original brakes from the E-350 so the RSC problem doesn't occur.

I should also correct something I said a few posts up: Randy didn't say he recommends 32" tires for the standard 4x4 conversion with 4" lift from Advanced 4x4. He said it was the _maximum_ that he recommends. He says he's using 285/75-16's on his personal rig, which he says are around 31".

That is a 33" - I use those too.

Re: Let me introduce myself...

Thanks for that info.

Did you find it necessary to go to 4.10 gearing with those tires, or just preferable?

Re: Let me introduce myself...

I changed to the 4:10 for towing (4:10 was an option I could have ordered from Ford when new) and it also works out good for the vans computer with bigger tires. Gearing is something you need to adjust to how you are going to use it. (Towing, Max fuel mileage, Low gearing, High gearing, Tire size, etc.)

Re: Let me introduce myself...

Thanks, Vegasrandall.

I am currently in Missoula, MT enroute to parts north.

Came to town to see what I could see, but if feels awfully crowded here compared to the miles from nowhere I've been.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I picked up my just-converted-to-4x4 van from Advanced 4x4 in Salt Lake City on Monday. Now I'm headed north in the crazy search for the middle of nowhere and cool weather.

But I'm sorry I missed the rain in LV the other day. I'm like a good luck charm. If it rains, you can bet I'm out of town.

Tonight is the first night I'm not sleeping in the truck. Really, the hotel room isn't as pleasant.
