Oh, thanks! Hmmm, yes someone did just say something like that but I didn't understand what was meant. Now, I see: Stant Model 10510 is the recommended one (2004 Ford Super Duty Van V-10 6.8 L).

I took it with a grain of salt, but when I went into Autozone (or it might have been Shuck's, their both close to the house) to get a locking fuel cap the guy told me with fuel prices as high as they are thieves are bypassing the locking caps and just punching holes and draining the tank that way. He said they'd had a number of their fleet vehicles hit that way.

Stopped by my local Pep Boys yesterday to get a locking cap. They looked up an '06 E350 PSD, and came up with Stant 11510. I questioned that number, but they assured me it was right. On the back of the packagin, it stated that the 11510 was suitable for most 10510 applications. It did work.
Next question, has anyone come up with a good fuel cap tether retrofit?

Herb,
My factory tether worked with the Stant cap. Not too hard to get it on.

OK... I must not have the gene that enables one to be able to use the Stant wesbite.....
I was looking for a locking fuel cap for a 2008 Ford E350 6.0L PSD.
AutoZone shows no such animal.
Stant seems to show no such animal.
Anyone have suggestions? Anyone get different results?
I have not been to Pep Boys, but will try them today.

I had to special order mine at Kragen (aka Checkers, Shucks) as it wasn't a stock item. I have the V10 though. You may want to try them. I went into the store to do this.

The site is a little tricky to use. It says there is no parts available for the 2008 Diesel
http://www.stant.com/part_locator/index.cfm
Here are the settings I used:
Category = Passenger Cars and Light Trucks
Year = 2008
Make = Ford
Type = Light Trucks, SUVs, Vans & Mini-Vans
Model = Super Duty Van
Engine = V-8 6.0 L Diesel

OK, I don't feel so bad... that is where I was looking.
I did just stop by Pep Boys, and their system says the Stant 11510 or 10510 is the right part number (dang I don't remember which one), but they don't carry it.
Maybe it is time to start calling around.

Greg,
I just looked at my receipt and it is a 11510. Again mine is the gasser. Special order at Kragen. If you don't have one near you or can't find online I can order and pick it up and send to you.
