Looking for input on a SMB build

Greetings,
I've been lurking for a long time, just joined recently and am looking to "move up" from Suburban mobility to the SMB. So, I'm in need of input/opinion on a build thought.

I've seen this listing: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/ctd/2321627722.html and wonder if this would be a good base vehicle to have a fresh SMB interior, pop-up top installed in/on?

Any thoughts, input, opinions, suggestions?

Thank's for the conversation!

Re: Looking for input on a SMB build

It seems like a good base to start from. It already has some pricey add-ons if you want those features.

A window van might limit what you can do with the floorplan, unless you don't mind cabinets blocking windows.

But, still the price seems high for a 3-4 year old van. I would think more like $40K

Gotta agree.

VERY rough numbers:
$30K van when brand new
$15K for Quigley conversion
$5K for Aluminess bumpers
$5K for various doodads

I'm seeing a total investment of $55K-$60K, with fairly high miles for an '08. I haven't kept up with prices since I bought mine used a few years back, but I'm seeing something along the number Mike threw out there.

Re: Looking for input on a SMB build

When I was looking for vans last week I found several well equipped cargo Quigleys new to slightly used for $30,000 - $42,000.
