Did I misunderstand?

Hi there,
Did I read you right that this is a diy build? If so, I can’t recommend enough the need for insulation to the max for where you are going! The weather’s been extremely weird this year....even where I live in South
Colorado! No complaints as we desperately need the moisture. But—we’ve had single digits for weeks.
Don’t forget insulation for your water, and batteries as well. Both directions will likely be cold. Good luck, and hope you have a great time!!

Made it to Alaska! Warm, safe and sound. The van was perfect and that 7.3 never skipped a beat after 6000 miles and some 18% (!) grades.Click image for larger version

Fairbanks it is! At least for the next six months. Wow this place is flat. I had to get a storage unit for the skis and climbing gear. I'm sure the mountain bikes will get put to use here though. Been camping in the van so far as the going rate for a tiny dry cabin is 500/month. I have running water in here so I would consider it a step up.
