Nevada Registration

We just started the process of getting our Sportsmobile. We are finalizing the budget, and we were trying to find someone who took possession of their Sportsmobile in Nevada and registered it in Nevada so we can get an idea about how much its going to cost.

Thanks.

Hey I moved your post, not many people browse the Forum Problems area.

As far as AZ goes I got info driect from the DMV that it would cost very little. At every step of the way I double checked, including calling them again to be sure there was no mix up. I had all the paperwork in hand and was only to return to get my wife on the title- there was even a written amount that it would cost.

When I returned I got the one teller who decided to wreck my day and made a big stink about how much I'd paid for it vs. what they were valuing it at. They got a supervisor involved and it wound up costing me a lot more- the problem is none of these people understand what an SMB is and despite my best efforts I never uncovered the local law that my fees are based on original post conversion costs.

So, with that in mind, good luck. I'm interested in the Nevada registration as we're thinking about moving there- where do you live? What's it like?

Hi Cobblecrazy, i live near Reno and, while I won't get my SMB until late Sept., I have done a little research on the subject. If you go to NV DMV, you can find an estimate of their fees. In addition, 8% is a good guess for the sales tax. Greg White at SMB West said that they want to deliver the van to Reno, where I can take possession. SMB wants $450 for this service and is required if you want to avoid CA sales tax. Hope this is of some help.

I should have mentioned that Greg said that they would also deliver to Las Vegas.
