Post some pics and tell us about it! I'll be there next week, first timer.

Absolutely explore Great Basin. Drive to the top and then hike among the Bristlecone Pines. Mind blowing to be walking among the oldest living things on the planet. Easy hike but it is high elevation. Take water.

When you pass through Ely, if you need a place to overnight, Ward Mountain CG is just a little ways off 50 on 6. Very nice campground.

We camped outside Bryce at Red Canyon CG. We enjoyed it. The showers were closed due to covid but the restrooms were open. If you want a shower, go in to Pahguitch to the Hitching Post CG and get one and do your clothes at the same time. Panguitch seems like a neat little town.

Groceries in Bryce City at Ruby's are very expensive and not a big selection. Panguitch has a good market or go over to Tropic to Clarke's Country Market.

Look up Fish Lake, UT. We REALLY enjoyed the Mackinaw Campground. There are a LOT of opportunities for dispersed camping in that area. Another cool thing in that area is the Pando Aspen Grove. It is purported to be one of the largest living organisms on the planet.

Since you are going to Bryce, you HAVE to bop over to Capital Reef. You'll know why when you see it. Mind blowing.

Have fun. That whole area is really neat. We ended up staying there for three weeks.

I probably passed you if you've been there a few days. I just got back and that was the last area I hit before heading east towards home. Tower Arch is a great an lesser known hike. Also, I had no idea many great off-grid spots were out in the Salt Valley area. Head up the road (carefully) towards Baby Steps for even more great spots. The first mile or so isn't bad for 2wd.

Oh, BTW, start a trip report for your adventure if you don't mind!
