New Alternative to a Pop Top
Have you folks seen this yet? I must be on every outdoor mailing list, so got an email about this kickstarter campaign. Looks like a great alternative to a pop top if you just want more sleeping room. Less expensive by a ton (it's $2200) and portable to any vehicle.

Maggiolina has been making these for years.
Also, bigfoot tents has the same design.
The tilt up hinge style ones are made by quite a few companies including Colorado Camper Van.
Interesting what gets traction on kickstarter!

Yeah, their claim to fame is the "pop-up" feature. As in, no cranking. It seems new design is ever on the horizon.

Not that I'm in the market, but did I miss how much it weighs?

I don't see any news in the design , but that might be because we see a lot more RTT's over here in Europe than on the US market.

Yeah, I'm not seeing much new here. The 'discounted' Kickstarter price is just OK in my opinion. The full retail price makes me hope this thing is downright spectacular in terms of quality.
The existing manufacturers of roof top tents also have a proven track record. To take a chance on a newcomer to the game, I'd want it significantly cheaper.

I looked for it, too. It'd be good to know.
