New PH top design??

Came across this IG pic of the inside of a penthouse top. Has anyone ever seen square bars used in an install?

Exclusive Outfitters out of Placentia posted it.

I believe Opt Overland uses square tube or maybe extruded aluminum (e.g., 80/20) in it's mechanism, lift and/or frame. I understand aside from square tube, the design is similar to CCV.

Doesn't have the look of an SMB penthouse and interior. Nice looking though.

I'm pretty sure it's an SMB top from the looks of it on the outside.

Square stock! Oh man that's awesome.
Seems that the issue of bent PH bars would forever be a thing of the past with those.

It sure does look like an SMB top otherwise, wonder if they did a one-off retrofit/upgrade of an existing installed top.

I think this may be the case. The only other detailed pics of the pop-tops on their website all show round bars.

Have you ever seen a SMB penthouse with black canvas?

Opt Overland uses 80/20 for the roof rails/sliders. The rest is welded steel with heim joints or bronze bushings depending on the joint. I haven't seen a CCV top in person, but comparing my Opt Overland top to CCV's website one obvious difference is the use of 4 instead of 2 linear actuators. Overkill? Maybe...but it's quite robust.

You can still bend the square stock. I watched Dai at Opt bent there's when he was testing a frame with a top on it anchored to the ground. Got on top because he thought it would be strong enough and he bent both fronts from where he got on the top, he's around 190-200lbs. If they were welded and had a sleeve it probably would be stronger so really depends on design once you put a hole in anything you make it weaker with out support...
