New Sneakers...

So for those of you who read about my epic blowout:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3318

I finally got a chance to pick up some new tires. I went with the Toyo Open Country M/T because they look bad ass...And of course because of their functionality and I have heard great things about them. While I was at it I bought a brand new full size spare to replace the old BFG I had planned on using. Also, I finally got the replacement rim on so I have 4 matching rims again. Check 'em out:

I went with the 285/75 R16's...The same size tire that was on the van when I bought it. I didn't think I needed to go with oversized tires.

Re: New Sneakers...

Veg,

I'm going to have to get some new sneaks before of after winter this year <fingers crossed> and although I have been a BFG All Terrain fanatic with all of my trucks, I think I'm going to have to switch. I'm running the 315's and I have a growing sense of paranoia around weight rating, balance-ability and overall tread wear.

A couple of questions:
How do you find the noise associated with the M/T's? Did you switch from All-Terrain T/A's? If so, what would your comparison look like?

What is the weight class of the Open Country?

If you would post some notes once you've had a chance to use them properly I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Bryan

Re: New Sneakers...

I have been a BFG fan in the past but I had to go with the Toyo's this time around. No new noticeable noise with the new tires. But the howl of the diesel engine might cover that up. The Toyo Open Country M/T's are E class rated, as opposed to the BFG's being D's, but I am not sure about any weight stuff on them. I'm sure you could find that on their site.
