New water tank

Phil, bought a 15 gallon to fit beside the existing tank. Was wondering how you connected your two water tanks. Just a single connection making it in fact a single tank, or did you isolate with valves? I feel like I want to isolate in case one springs a leak or is contaminated some way. Wonder if I am being too anal about it. Would be much easier just to connect the two and be done with it.

Hey Tony -

Mine are separate. I can fill the original tank from the new tank if I need (in the case where I don't have access to a pressurized hose for instance) but can't fill the new tank from the original tank. I could have designed it such that either tank could fill the other but I concluded that it made things more complicated and if I have a pressurized hose I could easily fill both independently.

That's the long way of saying they both tie into the same distribution line and each have their own pump.

My post was in response to Arctictraveler, post #8. I've noticed that coffee uses a lot out of your water tanks. Half gallon a day for me, just for coffee.

Separately, you can use a hand pump sprayer for hands and dishes and not compromise your water tank supply. A hand pump garden sprayer will do a lot of hands and dishes on one fill.

Geeeez - and now I feel really stupid! We bought a Water Port for that specific reason (3 gallons goes a long way for washing stuff with a controlled spray head on a length of hose). Could have saved A LOT of money with your recommendation of a garden style pump sprayer from Home Depot.

I really like the half gallon sprayer idea they are on my sorry list. I was just being a goof with the coffee comment.

Isn't that really just another way of saying you drink a lot of coffee?
