Fun! Thanks for sharing! Your kids look like they are having a blast. I know what you mean about buying "sight unseen", we gambled and did that with our 1998 EB350, but at 20k in the middle of COVID times, it was a gamble that paid off! Love your red color also.

Sounds like you got a killer deal NWestie. Did you post any pics of your new rig? Would love to see it. Yes, the kids love it and it's awesome to see them have an appreciation for the outdoors and adventure!

I guess sometimes finding campgrounds full will drive us further into the woods and to new places, so I guess it isn't all bad. I know we found some amazing places because we had to go the extra mile! Glad you found a place to stay.

Would love to see some pictures of your van.

This year mid August I turned up Bishop Creek heading to my regular campground (4 Jefferies)...FULL....ventured to several other's FULL. Talked to a campground host.....all campgrounds from Lone Pine to Mammoth were full. I drove thru one of them and even if there were a site I would not have stayed. I could feel the disappoint my SMB was feeling.
Took off down hill to Bishop headed east on Hwy 6 to Nevada. Started to get dark pulled off and went up a dirt road. Popped the top, had a cocktail trying to make sense of what I had just experienced. Only justifiable reason was COVID-19.
Turned in contemplating the new world I was living in.
Thanks to the good "lord I woke up, brewed a cup of joe and look out SMB pop top window there were 3 wild horses munching on sage brush......every thing became right with the world......I smiled, cleaned up and headed due east deeper into Nevada.
