Greetings rickschwolsky,

My van was like you describe as water only fed to the sink. My heater/shower set up might not be for everyone as it's just parts from Home Depot but in this link are some pictures. The conversation is mostly about hot water heaters for showers but you might find some of it useful.

https://www.sportsmobileforum.com/fo...ter-17239.html

To answer your question, yes, you can tap off of the sink supplies to feed the shower. In my case I tapped off the cold water (the sink was cold water only at the time) and ran pex to the back to feed the 12 volt hot water heater, and shower, then ran a hot back to the front so I had hot water at the sink. A couple of updates since the pictures were taken are, I added a 1 liter accumulator to the water system which greatly reduces pump cycling and I changed the "shower head" to a kitchen sink spray wand which reduces water usage and is more convenient than the dog wash type in the photo.

Let us know what you decide and of course post pictures.
- Eric

I did this on my old van, using existing water pump and propane tank:

Outdoor shower option?

We debated on how to add a shower to our plumbing system, but decided to go another way.

We tried the gravity feed bag showers, but not enough pressure, and you have to find something high to hang it from.

So, we got the Helio pressurized shower and have loved it.

We fill the bag with hot water from our sink and pump it up. We use about 2 gallons water and that is plenty of hot water with the pressure from the nozzle. We could also fill it up from other sources if available.

For privacy we use a shower tent. This one has been awesome, but there are many options available.

A big advantage over an attached external shower is we can pick our spot where we set up the shower, so we don’t have a muddy spot by the van door.

I tapped a shower line into my water system as shown. I had removed my sink and faucet so just tapped into the existing line. But it would be just as easy to install a T fitting and have both. I also put in an inline valve for the shower line. Shower hose is just a sink sprayer.
