Re: Penthouse roof leaking.
I have a similar issue with my penthouse top and a leak that I have since fixed. The bow in the top when the penthouse top is down seems to be from the pressure of the electric motor pulling the top in the set position. I don't know if this is normal but has been that way since I bought it used last year. I haven't seen leaks directly caused by the bowing in the front of the penthouse top but I did see a pin hole when applying the Raptor Liner. I applied the Raptor Liner after I found a couple drips coming from the light attached to the top front of the penthouse top. There were only a few drips but concerning none the less. I figured this was due to the cracks in the clear coat since there seemed to be quite a few. After sanding the top to prep for the Raptor Liner I noticed the cracks in the clear coat were sanded away and not the cause of the leak. The leak was from a pin hole caused by the wood screw in the front right corner of the top poking through from inside. I figure this screw is from the insulation and wood liner. I used a grinder to shrink the size of the screw and then filled the hole with butyl before applying the Raptor Liner. No leaks since making that fix.
