That actually sounds pretty reasonable given the labor involved. Good to know.

I have a ccv top and the utmost rear screen unzips and was labeled as a secondary escape route. Love that it unzips. Good for pix, letting bugs out, and the occasional I’m locked out way in.

Unfortunately a few of my screens have separated and one zipper has failed with another threatening to follow suit. I need them in good working order. I reached out to ccv and was quoted for a replacement but never got a response when I asked about repairing a known issue. Iirc derek mentioned to me that the remedy was that all thief screens have the zip option now. Wishing I had took that option from the word go, but hindsight...

Not being able to shell out the cost of a complete replacement canvas I contacted a local custom spa cover outfit and they quoted me a very reasonable price to replace my bad zippers and convert all the fixed screens into zippered options. The quote also included some small things that I brainstormed that would improve the looks and functionality of our top for us. So those looking for the option might look into a local place before dropping a big sum for a complete replacement vs getting your current setup (if it doesn’t need replaced anyway) reworked.

Shenrie, I would be interested in knowing how your project turns out (if you go through with it). While I don't have zipper issues yet, I inherited a top with a repaired tear in it that I'd like to get more ascetically remedied in the future.

If you are pleased with the results from the local company (Boise?), I would appreciated their contact information.

Cheers!

FWIW: Had a similar issue on a tent a while back - the repair always inflamed my sense of "balance", and I just didn't like the obvious.
Found round (probably just under 4") adhesive patch's that almost matched in color. Put one over the the repair - both inside and out, then placed two more in exact location on the other side of the tent - ended out looking like it was part of the manufacturing, couldn't tell it actually masked an issue.
